Privacy policy

AMR Tax & Accounting Services ("AMR Tax", "we") prepares taxes and keeps books for individuals and businesses. Protecting your information is part of our job. This page explains what we collect through amrtax.net and our app, why, and how we keep it safe.

Information you give us

• Contact and estimate requests. If you ask us to review your refund estimate, we receive your name, email, optional phone number and message, and the numbers you entered in the estimator.
• Appointments. When you book through our scheduling page (Calendly), we receive your name, email, phone and any answers you give.
• Documents and questionnaires. Tax documents you upload and answers to our due diligence questionnaire are used only to prepare your return.
• Email and messages you send us.

Website statistics

We count visits to understand which pages are useful. Our statistics do not use cookies, do not store your IP address, and do not identify you. We record the page viewed, the website that sent you (for example Google or Facebook), whether you use a phone or computer, and whether the refund estimator was used. Unique visits are counted with a code that changes every day and is deleted after two days. If your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal, we don't count your visit at all.

The numbers you type into the refund estimator stay in your browser unless you choose to send them to us.

How we use your information

• To answer your questions, schedule appointments and prepare your tax return or books.
• To send you reminders and follow-up messages about your service.
• To keep records required by law.

We never sell your information. As a tax preparer, we follow federal rules (including Internal Revenue Code Section 7216) that limit how tax return information may be used or shared. We do not use or disclose it for any other purpose without your written consent, unless the law requires it.

Who we share it with

Only the service providers we use to run our office, such as our tax software, secure email and file storage (Google Workspace), and scheduling (Calendly), and only as needed to serve you. We may also share information when required by law, such as with the IRS when filing your return.

How we protect it

• Our website uses encrypted connections (HTTPS).
• Client records are kept in accounts protected by strong passwords and two-step verification, with access limited to our staff.
• We follow the IRS's security guidance for tax professionals (Publication 4557) and the FTC Safeguards Rule.

How long we keep it

We keep tax records for as long as the law requires (generally at least three years after filing). Estimate requests from people who don't become clients are deleted after two years. Website statistics are kept for about a year.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, or stop receiving messages from us, at any time, except where the law requires us to keep it.
